Camp Navarro is nestled in 200 acres of Redwoods along the meandering North Fork of the Navarro River in California’s famed Anderson Valley wine country of Mendocino County.
A private Camp for more than 100 years, Camp Navarro began as a lumber camp of the Albion Lumber Company in the very early 1900s.
A railroad was constructed to haul the logs to the coast. A spur of the railroad from Albion ran through the camp and up Neefus Creek, and the “Y” for turning engines around is still faintly visible in camp. A piece of the original rail is displayed in front of the Lodge.
The camp was used as a Civilian Conservation Corps camp during the Depression, and then as an army camp during World War II.
The Masonite Corporation sold Camp Navarro to the Sonoma-Mendocino Area Boy Scout Council in 1956, and it was renamed Camp Masonite Navarro. It was a private Scout camp and the 'crown jewel' property used by the Scouts
as well as other youth groups for over 60 years.
Camp Navarro, as it is now known, became available to the public for the first time in its long history. It all started with Camp Grounded. This tech free adult summer camp launched the digital detox movement and propelled Camp Navarro as a leading corporate retreat venue as most of the attendees were from the Bay Area’s leading tech companies.
Since Camp Grounded, Camp Navarro has been a premier Northern California ‘back to nature’ Event & Festival venue.
We specialize in hosting world-class experiences with an emphasis on fun, relaxation and connecting with one’s self and one’s peers and nature. Sprinkle in tasty food and drinks, as well as seamless hospitality, for a very special and impactful experience.
We recognize the irreplaceable environmental and social value of Camp Navarro and its long history in the community. We have been committed to opening the camp to our guests for private events with creative sensitivity and the enjoyment of the delicate balance of human and natural interaction surrounding us. We have hosted world class corporate events, wellness retreats, weddings, conferences, festivals, reunions, school outings, and camps and creative events that are cutting edge and inspiring….
